Jaxon’s Magical Adventure with Black Inventors & Scientists

In Jaxon’s Magical Adventure with Black Inventors & Scientists, the first book of this children’s book series, Jaxon discovers that the necklace his grandmother gave him before she passed away has magical powers. With a combination of the magical necklace and saying the magic words, Jaxon can see and talk to Black inventors and scientists. During this time, he is also playing the role of Dr. Martin Luther King in the school play celebrating Black History Month. However, Jaxon stutters when he is in front of a crowd and when he meets new people. He hopes he can find a way to overcome his fear before the day of the play.

Jaxon’s sister, who had the necklace before Jaxon, shares the rules of the necklace: he can only use the necklace three times per month, he will only be able to use the necklace until he is 16, he can never take off the necklace, and he needs to be very careful what he wishes for.

Jaxon soon finds out what his sister meant when she said to be careful what he wishes for. Can Jaxon get out of his mess before his parents find out?  Will he bomb on the day of the play?

In Jaxon’s Magical Visit at NASA, the fourth book in the Just Imagine… children’s book series, Jaxon takes his magical necklace to NASA with his friend Tyler. The boys have a great time talking to Black astronauts and scientists. They were very surprised to learn there were and are so many Black people involved in aviation and astronomy.

Tyler lives next door to Jaxon. They play together almost every day after school and do their homework together. Tyler and Jaxon dream of being astronauts one day and enjoy visiting NASA whenever they can. But when Jaxon decides to test the necklace in a big way, he finds himself alone in a very unstable predicament. He has lost the necklace and doesn’t know how to put things back the way they were without the necklace.

Jaxon Meets Black Cowboys

In Jaxon Meets Black Cowboys, the fifth book in the Just Imagine… A World Without Black People series, Jaxon enjoys a magical trip to a western town and ranch with his Uncle Randy. Jaxon did not know there were so many famous Black cowboys until this educational moment with his uncle.

Jaxon’s Uncle Randy is a cattle rancher who lives in another state. Jaxon doesn’t see his uncle often, but always has fun riding the horses around the ranch and helping with the cattle. Even though Jaxon has learned his lesson about making bad decisions with the necklace, he decides to make another wish that takes him into unfamiliar territory in this educational children’s story. Will he be able to talk his way out of his trouble again? Has he really learned his lesson this time?

Jaxon Meets Black Cowboys provides wonderful insights into the historical participation of the African American cowboys of the Wild West. The Just Imagine… series was written to educate children on the importance of Black and African American inventors, scientists and other important figures throughout history.
